Directorate of Sports
Introduction
The University of Peshawar established in the year 1950 has got the sole privilege and pride to be the first ever University created after independence and since then serving as the mother institution in the field of education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The University of Peshawar while actively providing services to the nation in various disciplines of education is also equally catering to the extra curricular activities in providing talents to the nation in almost the entire sports fields. The traditions and conventions as established by the Islamia College Peshawar are exactly copied and strictly followed by the Directorate of Sports of the University of Peshawar.
The Director Sports University of Peshawar is an over all in-charge of Sports activities who, not only supervises sports on the campus but also coordinate in organizing sports of all the affiliated colleges with the University of Peshawar. Various teams of all the games of Post-Graduate departments represent University of Peshawar at National level. It is also pertinent to mention here that players of University of Peshawar also participate in games of International level competition.
The Directorate of Sports is also organized Inter-Departmental /Hostels Tournaments of different games regularly and the students of the University are given opportunities to warmly participate in sports during evening time. the Directorate of Sports also organize the Inter-Colleges comptetion of Male and female. This practice will inculcate the spirit of sports amongst the students on the campus. The University of Peshawar is also actively take part in the Inter-University competitions.
