Dr. Sajjad Ahmad
Director, Office of Research Innovation, and Commericalization (ORIC) - University of Peshawar
Dr. Sajjad Ahmad is a distinguished geologist who currently serves as the Director of ORIC at the University of Peshawar. He holds a Ph.D. in Geology from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, and has completed postdoctoral research through prestigious fellowships such as the Commonwealth Academic Staff Fellowship and the Fulbright Scholar Program. Dr. Sajjad possesses extensive research experience, evidenced by over 50 publications in reputed journals. He has also supervised over 30 Master's and 3 Ph.D. scholars and led significant research and consultancy projects, including a PKR 70 million hydrocarbon exploration project in Pakistan’s tribal areas. Dr. Sajjad's collaborative efforts span institutions such as VU University Amsterdam, the University of Houston, and the University of Regina, Canada.
As Director of ORIC, he aims to advance research at the University of Peshawar, drive academic-industry collaborations, and contribute to Pakistan’s development through innovation.

Dr. Fahim Nawaz
Research Officer, Office of Research Innovation, and Commericalization (ORIC) - University of Peshawar
Dr. Fahim Nawaz is an applied economist who works as a Research Officer at the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC). He completed a Ph.D. in Economics at the Technical University Dresden, Germany in November 2022.
His key skills and expertise include research design & planning, survey design and implementation, data collection and cleaning/preparation, statistical/econometric analyses, and report writing. He has published a number of studies in reputed national and international journals. In addition, he has presented his research work at numerous national and international conferences. As a Research Officer at ORIC, he aims to further advance research excellence and foster stronger collaborations between academia and industry to drive innovation and economic development.
