UoP Climate Scientist Urges Government to Declare a National Climate Emergency
As the Organiser of the Environment Society at the University of Peshawar, Dr Asif Khan Khattak, Assistant Professor, Department of Environmental Sciences, has initiated the Pakistan Climate Emergency Movement. He has urged the Pakistan Government to Declare a National Climate Emergency. He maintains that “As a nation we need to take the issue of climate change with the seriousness it deserves and take urgent action.” In this regard, his Opinion Article has been published in the Express Tribune and it can be found here:

Previously, he organised a massive Climate Action Walk on 20 September 2019 that brought together scores of people including students and teachers from the academia, members of government, NGOs and civil society.
