Job Vacancy at Department of Political Science, UoP

We are searching qualified candidates to work as Research Assistant on the research project ‘Protracted Displacement Economies’. The project is a collaboration between the Department of Political Science, University of Peshawar and the University of Sussex, UK.

We are looking for candidates that take keen interest in the theme of the research project and have excellent communication and organizational skills.

Duration of the Assignment:

Initially for 6 months extendable for a further period. Starting from 1 January 2021.

Responsibilities:

To visit field work areas and collect background information regarding those areas.
Identify potential respondents for surveys, interviews and focus groups.
To make contacts with data respondents in field work areas.
To assist the data collection team during field work.
To make arrangements for data collection visits.

Qualifications:

Enrolled or completed M. Phil /Ph.D at the University of Peshawar.
Social Science background
Fluency in Urdu, English, Pashto. (Linguistic proficiency in Dari and Khowar will be preferred).
Excellent organizational, managerial and communication skills are must.

Place of Work:

Field visits to Chitral, Haripur and Peshawar.
The Research Assistant will report to Professor Abdul Rauf, Department of Political Science.
