Hundred UoP students have been selected for the funds provided by Peoples Republic of China under the China Embassy Fund Scholarship worth 7 million among Pakistani and Afghan Nationals. The students for the scholarship was selected by a high powered committee comprising Prof. Dr. Zahid Anwar, Director China Study Centre (Convener), Dr. Shuja Ahmad, Chairman, Department of Philosophy (member), Dr. Khan Alam, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics (Member) and Mr. Ali Asghar Jan, Director Admissions (member) under the auspicious of student financial aid office of the Directorate of Admissions, University of Peshawar. The students included numbers of different department i.e. Anthropology, Arabic, Archaeology, COBAM, Computer Science, Disaster Management, Economics, Environmental Sciences, Geography, Geology, History, IER, Homo Economics, IR, Journalism, Mathematics, Peace and Conflict, Physics Political Science and psychology. Total 26 students were selected from MS/M.Phil. /Ph.D., 66 students were selected from BS degree program and 08 students were selected from M.A. /M.Sc./MBA who fulfill the scholarship committee Criteria. China Embassy Fund Scholarship was offered by the Embassy last year during the visit of the Honorable Consular of the Chinese Embassy to the University. Each student will get a sum of Rupees 70,000/- in it. A Formal distribution ceremony will be held shortly for awarding the amount formally among the students.
