Seminar on Judiciary: Its role, problems and Prospects

A Seminar was held at Pakistan Study Centre, University of Peshawar, on Judiciary: Its role, problems and Prospects. Director Prof Dr Fakhr-ul-Islam presided over the seminar.  Syed Mudassir Shah Additional Session Judge was the keynote speaker. While highlighting various aspects of judiciary, he discussed in detail reasons responsible for delay in disposal of cases. He said that insufficient number of judges, role of lawyers, weak witnesses, interest of parties concerned, weak prosecution, role of stakeholders departments and police are responsible for the inordinate delay. The speaker responded to various questions asked by the participants.
