Come and join us for an awareness seminar on the upcoming Provincial Budget!

Who will be there: Represetatives from the Finance Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will present the “citizen budget” and explain how it is spent. The seminar will provide an opportunity to the youth of the province to participate in the budget-making process and providing feedback - by advising the Finance Department on setting up priorities for the next financial year.

Objectives of the workshop:

The event aims to involve the students of the University as part of a participatory process - one of the key elements of good governance.

The seminar will:

• Mobilize youth to effectively engage in local participative governance
• Enhance the participants’ understanding of the budgetary processes
• Encourage youth to give feedback on government budgeting and spending
• Support youth to share good practices and lessons learned on social accountability
• Introduce practical solutions to policy implementation and monitoring
• Promote networking, building coalitions/networks around participative local governance

The event is organized by Finance Department Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in collaboration with the University of Peshawar and is facilitated by GIZ Pakistan.
