JCW takes away the winning trophy of Inter Degree College Girls Competition: Jinnah College for Women is keeping alive the glorious past of its achievements: VC UoP


(Peshawar): The Vice Chancellor University of Peshawar Prof. Dr. Muhammad Asif Khan congratulated the Jinnah College for women for keeping alive the glorious past of its achievements. He was speaking as chief guest at the Inter college degree college competition trophy distribution ceremony being held at JCW ground.

The Director Sports Behre Karam welcomed all the distinguished guests and supervises all the events with usual oversight.

A total number of 19 colleges' teams participated in the event, who are affiliated with the University of Peshawar. Jinnah College for Women has outshined all other departments, colleges of University of Peshawar and other degree colleges from district Peshawar, Charsadda, and Noshera degree colleges.

The Vice Chancellor in his speech said that University will always foster activities that will involve girls in sports competition. He remarked that sports are the first pedestal of grooming students for Character building.

Principal JCW, Prof. Dr. Shazia Babar felt proud that Jinnah College students are excelling in sports arena too. She said that these activities give our students a sense of boldness and confidence.

The sports competition entail badminton, table tennis, cricket, basketball, volley ball, hand ball, tug of war, and eight events of athletics'. Jinnah College took the championship trophy by outshining all other colleges. The Jinnah College took first position in table tennis, hand ball, and basket ball games. While remained on top in athletics' overall points table. The post graduate departmental team of University of Peshawar won the cricket and badminton games. The College of Home Economics won the tug of war competition while Government degree college of Tangi , Charsadda won the Volley ball competition.

The events started with the 100 meter race among the athletes that has won by the Jinnah College runner Syeda Hifza. The Police band played the beautiful themes of Pashtu and Patriotic songs that keep the event with an aura of jubilation and glory. The faculty member of JCW along with a large number of students participated in the activity.
