Dr. Fakhar attends and addresses joint consultation on Women’s legislation

Director Pakistan Study Centre University of Peshawar Prof Dr. Fakhar-ul-Islam attended and addressed joint consultation on Women’s legislation at a local hotel. The consultation was attended by Human Rights Institutions from Pakistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It was organized by Blue Veins organization. The consultation took up for discussion two proposed laws i.e. Domestic Violence Prevention Bill and Early Marriages Prevention Bill. In his address Dr. Fakhar appreciated the presence of all shades of opinion including Ulama in order to arrive at consensus on women related laws. Dr. Fakhar is member of working group appointed by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Early Marriages Prevention Bill.
