The Department of Art & Design hosted a one-day National Seminar on "Ghani Khan as an Artist" and a Photographic Exhibition of Ghani Khan's Painting on March 15,2017 in the SSAQ Museum of Archaeology & Ethnology, University of Peshawar. 

The Seminar was chaired by Syed Minhaj-ul-Hassan, Dean Faculty of Arts & Humanities, and Prof, Abaseen Yousafzai Chief Guest at the occasion. Over 100 rare photographs of Ghani Khan were put on display.

Muhammad Sher Ali Khan, Chairman of the Department, in his speech pointed out that the purpose of this seminar and photographic exhibition was to explore the different aspects of Ghani Khan's personality, and to recognize him as an accomplished artist. 

The public while taking interest in the event, demanded to raise the status of Department of Art & Design to College of Art & Design. Three resolutions were passed in the seminar; first, to declare a Ghani Khan Chair in all public sector universities in KP, the second, appealed to Begum Naseem Wali Khan to make public the rare paintings of Ghani Khan, and the third, to preserve and conserve the artworks of Ghani Khan on more scientific lines.
