Pro VC/ Acting Vice Chancellor University of Peshawar Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abid,  while recognizing the importance of good books for intellectual development of human beings  has said that  University of Peshawar is always encouraging good writers and researcher to come up with quality work.

This he said while addressing as a chief guest of the launching ceremony of book “Introduction to Hazards and Disasters” written by Prof. Dr. Amir Nawaz Khan, Meritorious Professor Former Dean Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences and Director Centre for Disasters Preparedness and Management at SSAQ Museum Conference Hall University of Peshawar.

Besides large number of students, Teachers the event was attended by Muhammad Khalid, DG Fata Disasters Management Authority and Ms. Ajeeba Aslam Country Director Help Age International Organization.

The Programme was jointly organized by University of Peshawar with the collaboration Help Age International and Fata disaster Management Authority.

Earlier Dr. Amir Nawaz elaborated on various chapters and basic theme of the book.

While commenting on the significance of this book the Vice Chancellor Muhammad Abid elucidated that this book is considered to be the soul book among the other publications of the prolific author. It will immensely encourage students of various disciplines like Environmental Sciences, Geography, Geology, and Disaster Management.
