Director attends 2-day meeting of Higher Education Social Sciences Sub Committee for recognition of multidisciplinary journals and books, in Lahore 

Prof. Dr. Fakhr-ul-Islam, Director Pakistan Study Centre University of Peshawar attended two day meeting of  Higher Education Social sciences Sub Committee for recognition of multidisciplinary journals and books in Regional Centre Lahore on 26-27 January 2017. The Chairman of Committee Prof. Dr. Hafeez-ur-Rahman (Punjab University), members,  Prof. Dr. Waqar Ali Shah (Quaid-e-Azam University, Dr. Samina Awan(Allama Iqbal Open University), Prof. Dr. Saima Sheikh(Sindh University), and  Director Academics/Focal Person Social Sciences HEC Dr. Tahir Ali Shah also attended the meeting. In his opening remarks Director Academics/Focal Person Social Sciences HEC Dr. Tahir Ali Shah said that HEC strives for improving the standard of social sciences journals and general research. He said that HEC acquires the services of subject experts from all parts of the country so that their expertise are utilized for improving standards. In the 2-day meeting, the Social sciences Sum Committee for recognition of multidisciplinary journals and books, considered cases of 28 research journals and 17 books. On behalf of the committee, Prof. Dr. Fakhr-ul-Islam (Peshawar University) lauded the efforts of Director Academics/Focal Person Social Sciences HEC Dr. Tahir Ali Shah and his team regarding hard work and timely disposal of cases. At the end the Chairman of Committee Prof. Dr. Hafeez-ur-Rahman (Punjab University) thanked HEC and all the participants. Dr. Tahir Ali Shah thanked the participants, his own team  and administration of the Regional centre Lahore.
