IPS-Pakistan Study Centre hold National Roundtable on IDPs

The Institute of Policy Studies Islamabad and Pakistan Study Cenre University of Peshawar jointly organized National Roundtable. The theme of the roundtable was “Repatriation of Internally Displaced People (IDPs): Status and the Way Forward”. The roundtable was presided over by former Chief Secretary Rustam Shah Mohmand, while Dean University of Peshawar Prof. Dr. S. Minhajul Hasan inaugurated. Those who read out papers included Prof. Dr. Fakhr-ul-Islam, Brig (Rtd) Said Nazeer, Mr. Khalid Rahman  and  Mirajul Hameed Nasiri. The programme was attended by scholars from Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar. A sizable number of Peshawar University heads of departments, professors and youth from FATA was present on the occasion. The speakers took stock of the prevailing situation in FATA and discussed problems and prospects of IDPs’ repatriation as well as rehabilitation. The roundtable also finalized recommendation s which will be documented and transmitted to quarters concerned soon.
