Literati paid heartfelt gratitude to Prof. Dr. Adnan Sarwar Khan, former Dean Faculty of Social Sciences for his meritorious services rendered at the University of Peshawar in a ceremony held at the University guest house.

They said that Prof. Dr. Adnan Sarwar was a true hero of the students who in the most difficult of times gave them hope and power of positive thinking. They added the academician did not only focus on academic uplift but the character building of students.

The ceremony was arranged by Vice Chancellor UoP Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rasul Jan. Vice Chancellors of sister Universities including VC UET Prof. Dr. Iftikhar, Vice Chancellor Agricultural University Peshawar Prof. Dr. Zahoor Swati, and former VC UoP and  the sitting head of the HEC Seerat chair Prof. Dr. Qibla Ayaz were also present on the occasion.

Prof. Dr. Adnan Sarwar Khan is a great team man and has delivered to the best of his ability whenever assigned any responsibility said Vice Chancellor UoP Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rasul Jan in his address on the occasion. He added his special leadership abilities and charismatic personality were readily apparent. He further stated that his aptitude to change people’s lives, sharing the excitement of learning with students made him a stand out personality.

Prof. Dr. Qibla Ayaz said that a teacher never retires and now the services of Dr. Adnan will be utilized by all the Universities across KP. He added that teachers are the torch bearers of humanity and they shall show the way forward to the students who, in fact are, the innovators of tomorrow.

Dr. Adnan Sarwar in his speech thanked his colleagues for rating him high. He assured to contribute to the education sector in future as well.

The ceremony was also attended by Deans of Faculties, Admin officers and other staff of the University of Peshawar

It is worthwhile that Prof. Dr. Adnan Sarwar Khan retired from active service of the University of Peshawar in October, 2016.
