Mr. Shah Nazir has successfully defended his PhD research at the public defence held at the University of Peshawar on 30-11-2015. Dr. Shah Nazir has done research in the area of Software Engineering under the supervision of Dr. Sara Shahzad (Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, University of Peshawar). The defence was attended by Prof.Dr. Muhammad Abid (Dean, Faculty of Numerical and Physical Sciences, University of Peshawar), Prof.Dr. Saeed Mahfooz (Chairman, Department of Computer Science, University of Peshawar), Prof.Dr.Hizbullah Khan (Director, Admissions, University of Peshawar), along with faculty and students of Computer Science department. Prof.Dr. Zahid Hussain, (Dean, QUEST, Nawabshah) attended the defence as external examiner.

Dr. Shah Nazir has published more than 20 research papers in well reputed international journals and conference proceeding. He completed his research in less than four years and has the honour of being the very first PhD produced by the Department of Computer Science. While sharing his views after the announcement of the result, Professor Dr. Abid also noted that Dr. Shah Nazir would remain the very first PhD in the history of Computer Science Department.
