Public Defense of a Ph.D Research Scholar at Department of Urdu

Ms. Farhana Qazi, a Ph.D. Research Scholar at the Department of Urdu, University of Peshawar has  submitted her thesis entitled  to the University of Peshawar, in partial fulfillment of the requirement for the award of degree of  Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D) in the discipline of Urdu.

All those having interest in the said research work, are cordially invited to attend the occasion. The participants would be allowed to raise relevant questions after the presentation by the scholar for further judgment and evaluation of the examiners.

Abstract:

In every civilization, culture, nation, language and literature, one or more such personalities exist who are called genius. They play great role in world's history and serve the mankind irrespective of time, place and caste. Allama Iqbal, the great philosopher poet of Urdu is one such figure. The combination of his genius Intellect and Quranic philosophy created the masterpiece which is, no doubt, an asset for humanity Islam is the religion which brought everlasting intellectual revolution which Iqbal utilized in his philosophy and intellect and, resultantly, in his poetry. Therefore, one can say that Islamic preaching and Iqbal's philosophy are two sides of a coin. In other words, Iqbal conveys the message of the Holy Quran through his poetry. One of those philosophies is Iqbal's Philosophy (concept) of Jihad, as he believes that Jihad is the only way out for human prosperity The purpose of this research is to study the true and actual philosophy of Jihad in Iqbal's poetry.
