Dear Colleagues, Assalam-o-Alaikum & Eid-ul-Fitar Mubarak
It gives me great pleasure to inform you that the 15th International Conference of Psychology, organized by the Department of Psychology, University of Peshawar in collaboration with Pakistan Psychological Association (PPA) and Higher Education Commission (HEC), will be held at BARA GALI SUMMER CAMPUS (ABBOTTABAD) from August 26-27, 2016. Our programme will include a two-day conference on PSYCHOLOGICAL IMPACTS OF REGIONAL GEO-STRATEGIC SITUATION ON PAKISTANI YOUTH AND CHILDREN. You are requested to write your papers on how war on terror, natural and man-made disasters, and international power games in the region is affecting our youth and children and your thinking about possible solution/s to our problems. This letter will be followed by our detailed programme, if you register on time. Please remember that PPA’s active membership is a pre-requisite for attending the event. The Organizing Committee invites you to the event.
We will be accommodating about 150 participants (mainly PPA members). Keeping in view limited accommodation at Bara Gali, it will be easy for us to accommodate you if you Register at your earliest. Registration for everybody coming to the camp is a must. Please do not come uninformed and also intimate about your mode of arrival or we would not be able to accommodate you. Please do not bring any extra persons (guests or family) with you as very limited accommodation is available. If you are planning to bring your own car, there is very limited accommodation available for drivers and they have to pay mess charges as it is being managed by the university administration. Boarding, lodging (including beds), and normal food (as per pre-set menu) at Bara Gali will be served. Accommodation will be shared and please don’t expect a high quality accommodation from us as Bara Gali is a hill station at 7800 ft ASL. We will provide you with normal quality beds as well. Bring a blanket if you can. Daily excursions to Nathia Gali and/or Ayyubia will be part of the programme. Please bring warm clothes (sweaters, jackets, joggers, and a cap), a torch, and also an umbrella). The temperature will vary from 10 to 25 degree Celsius. Its really gets chilly at night especially when it rains. Transport (a bus) from Department of Psychology, University of Peshawar to Bara Gali and back to Peshawar (via Abbottabad) would be provided free of cost. We will start our journey from Peshawar to Bara Gali on Tuesday August 25, 2016 around 8:00 am from our Department in Peshawar and will reach Hasan Abdal (Silver Spoon Restaurant) around 11:00 am for a brief stay and will pick up pre-registered participants. We will also be staying for a while in Abbottabad (near Royal Hotel) around 1:00 pm. If you want to be picked up from one of these 2 spots, please inform us. If you want to join us in Peshawar, let us know in advance. Personal transportation will not be provided. We will return to Peshawar (via Abbottabad) on Saturday August 28, 2016 at 9:00 am sharp. The conference will be held on Aug. 26 and 27. We will hold a separate workshop on NLP & Hypnotherapy on Aug. 27, may be with separate registration.
Pre-conference non-refundable advanced registration is necessary on or before July 25, 2016 (There will be no exceptions and no on-the-spot deposits). Please send your Registration fee (Rs. 5000/- foreign delegates US $ 200/-) to the Department of Psychology, University of Peshawar only through Money Order or deposit it in person (there is no students’ concession available). We shall highly appreciate it if your institution sponsors you. After July 25, registration fee will be Rs. 6000/-. Please confirm your seat in BaraGali from us and do not come uninformed as it would be difficult for us to accommodate extra guests, if any.
