Global Hand Washing Day

The Department of Social Work, University of Peshawar, in collaboration with Helping Hand for Relief and Development, Islamabad and the University Public School, University of Peshawar had organized the "Global Hand Washing Day" on the 15th October, 2019, at the University Public School.
The purpose of the activity is to promote lifelong health for children and their families by teaching the close connection between good health and good hygiene and sanitation habits. The following sessions will be conducted with the students:
- Interaction session; between the student volunteers and the children of the School, The student volunteers can do an ice-breaking activity with them and/or a team-building activity.
- Hygiene awareness session; the student volunteers will give the children basic guidelines regarding hygiene awareness and bacteria protection.
- Demo session; in which the student volunteers will demonstrate to the children how to wash the hands effectively. It will also be explained to the children why it's important to wash the hands, how long should the hands be washed, and at what times should they be washed.
- Soap distribution among the children; some will be called up on stage, and the rest will be given to them while seated in their chairs to save time and prevent the hassle.
