UN Women and UNHCR is holding a joint event entitled "International Women Day 2019" at provincial level in Peshawar.
Keeping in view the theme of this year, focus will be to explore innovative ways in which we can advance gender equality and the empowerment of women, particularly in the areas of social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure. In this joint event, opportunity has been provided to the women home based workers and afghan refugees, specifically women to display their handmade crafts not only to exhibit but also sell them out. Students from Peshawar university will also be given the opportunity to exhibit their art work and interact with wider audience to get confidence and build potential linkages. The stalls will be all day open from 10:00 am to 04:30 pm.
The event will have a formal inauguration and it will be graced by Dr. Merhertaj Roghani, the Senator and ex-MPA KP as Chief Guest.
