University Of Peshawar to hold training programme for tribal journalists
The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, (JMC) University of Peshawar would start a training programme from tribal journalists in collaboration with the GiZ Germany. It was decided in a meeting of GiZ team led by Stefan Schmid, Co-ordinator Fata Development Programme with Vice Chancellor University of Peshawar Professor Dr Qibla Ayaz.
Chairman Department of Journalism and Mass Communication Dr Shahjehan Syed, who would also work as focal person for the certificate course was also present on the occasion. The university will offer three-month programme,ie IPR Certification for working tribal journalists and district correspondence of various print and electronic media for their capacity-building in the field.
Selected number of students of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication would also be enrolled in the certificate course as well, which is to commence from the coming month (January 2013). “The University of Peshawar is hosting to around 2,000 Fata students who are performing well in various disciplines, said Vice Chancellor UoP Professor Qibla Ayaz while talking to the three-member delegation.
