Naila Nazir is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics. Before joining the University of Peshawar, she worked as a Research Officer at the Monopoly Control Authority in Islamabad. Naila holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Economics and was awarded the Fulbright Postdoc scholarship. She served as Adjunct Faculty at the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Michigan State University, USA. Additionally, she is a Gold Medalist in Economics.
As a Systems Modeler, her research work primarily focuses on issues related to forest economics, energy supply, and various aspects of Environmental Economics. She received the Star Girls and Women International Award in 1996 and actively participates in community-based activities, with a special emphasis on supporting transgender individuals and persons with disabilities.
In addition to her academic and community involvement, she has contributed as a project reviewer for reputable institutions. She reviews projects and research manuscripts on behalf of national and international institutions and publishers. Naila has also worked on projects for organizations such as GIZ and FAO.
Her areas of expertise in teaching, research, and projects include Sustainable Development, Project Planning and Evaluation, Environmental Economics, Public Finance, and Islamic Economics. Her administrative contributions at the university level are noteworthy.
