Research Interest: Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) with their limited data rates, low cost, low power consumption and sensing capabilities are becoming increasingly prominent and are used in a wide range of applications for continuous sensing, event detection, and location sensing. Localization is a key aspect in all these tasks so that the sensed information can be assimilated and responded to efficiently. Imtiaz Rasool was born on 21st of January 1979 in a remote village called Pamana, in the South Waziristan Agency, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. He was brought up in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. He received his first undergraduate degree of BS in Engineering Sciences in 2002 and second degree of BS in Electronics Engineering in 2003 from the Ghulam Ishaq khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI), Pakistan. He completed his PhD degree in 2013 from the school of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Leeds, UK under the supervision of Dr. Andrew H. Kemp. His main research interest is in Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) specifically the noise model in ranging. Before opting for PhD, he worked as NSS Supervisor in a Wireless Local Loop company called TeleCard. Imtiaz has always loved sports. He was declared the best athlete at his college and has been a part of the college and university football, hockey, and cricket teams. Apart from sports he loves hiking, classical music, and off road driving. He is well fluent in following languages: Pashto, Urdu, Punjabee, and English. His future plans are to continue his research and transfer his knowledge to the youth of Pakistan.
