Community Service Program

From the coming admission to the first-degree examination i.e. admission in admitted in the first-degree examination part-I class (i.e. BS 4 year program, B.Sc H/Economics, B.Sc (Hons) M.B.B.S. etc @Rs. 500/- instead of @Rs. 150/- per student for the whole session in on installment i.e. at the time of admission in the previous class B.Com. B.A/B.Sc, (2 year program) @Rs. 300/- instead of @Rs. 150/- per student for the whole session in one installment i.e. at the time of admission in the previous class (3rd year).

 

The present rate of remuneration payable to the group leaders/teachers & for the purchase of materials for Community service & refreshments etc needs to be enhanced & re-adjusted as under: For 2 year program the community service fee may be as: The college will collect Rs. 300/- from each student of first degree examination Part-I. Out of this amount Rs. 100/- per student shall be retained by the college for running this program, with the following instructions:

  1. Rs. 50/- per student shall be kept for the purchase of material & refreshments etc. for this program.
  2. Rs. 50/- per student shall be kept for the group leaders, which will be paid to them by the college on the completion of Social Work program.
  3. The remaining amount i.e. Rs. 200/- per student should be sent to the University of Peshawar Community Service Program fund within one month.

For 4 or 5 year program the Community Service fee may be as: The college will collect Rs. 500/- from each student of first degree examination (part-I). Out of this amount Rs. 200/- per student shall be retained by the college for the running of this program, with the following instruction: Rs. 100/- per student shall be kept for the purchase of material & refreshments etc. for this program. Rs. 100/- per student shall be kept for the group leaders, which will be paid to them by the college on the completion of Social Work program. The remaining amount i.e. Rs. 300/- per student should be sent to the Community Service Program Fund within one month.

 

 

  1. Community service project will be proposed by the Director CSP either on his own initiative or on the recommendations of the Head of Institutions/Departments/Colleges concerned and will be notified by the approval of the Vice Chancellor.
  2. Community service projects will duly respect the religions and cultural susceptibilities of the community proposed to be served. 
  3. The community service projects will run under the supervision of a Coordinator in each Institution / Department / College who will be helped by the requisite number of students Group Leaders.
  4. The Head of Institution / Department / college will appoint coordinators and Group Leaders in each session and duly notify their lists to the officer Incharge of community services in the University.
  5. The Coordinators and Group Leaders will maintain a regular record of hours of work of each student and report shortages to the head of the Institution / Department / College and endorse a copy of list shortages to the Officer Incharge of community services before the submission of students Examination forms to the Controller of Examinations.
  6. Exemption up to 10 hours of work may be sanctioned by the Head of Institution / Department / College on grounds to be recorded. If a student, on account of illness or some physical disability, is unable to perform the task prescribed by his institution, the Head of Institutions may at his/her own discretion can allot him/her some suitable task of sedentary nature instead, under intimation to the University Officer Incharge of community services.
  7. The record of Community services shall be open to inspection by any officer of the University authorized by the Vice Chancellor.
  8. No Examination Admission form shall be entertained by the Controller of Examinations of the University of Peshawar unless it bears a certificate signed and sealed by the Head of Institution / Department / College that the Candidate has duly fulfilled the prescribed conditions of community work as prescribed the Reguation. The Vice Chancellor on the recommendations of the Head of Institution allows a candidate for cogent reasons to appear in an examination provisionally but the result of such a candidate will be withheld till the prescribe community work is completed and certified by the head of Institution / Department / College.        
  9. In case a student does not complete the prescribed hours of community services for annual examination, he/ she may be allowed to appear in the Supplementary Examination but after completing the prescribed hours of work.
  10. It shall be the special responsibility of the Principal / Chairman of the College / Department and Heads of the Institutes to enforce regulations effectively.
  11. The Inspection Committees for Affiliation of colleges or Inspection of colleges shall separately report on the adequacy of arrangements for community services in the college while submitting their report.
  12. The Officer Incharge will submit a consolidate report to Academic Council each January and will be authorized to call information, data necessary for compilation of his report from all Constituent / Professional and Affiliated Institutions / Teaching Department.
  13. The Vice – Chancellor may appoint or remove an officer Incharge of community services in the University
  14. Other operational deals or executive arrangement necessary to realize the objectives of the Regulations may be laid down time to time by the Vice – Chancellor in the form of rules or standing instructions with powers to amend or alter them or finally interpret these Regulations or aforesaid rules and Standing Instructions. The verdict of the Vice – Chancellor in all such cases shall be final.
