INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DIALOGUE & CHINA STUDY CENTRE, UOP
The 3rd Annual Meeting of International Youth Dialogue, themed “A Community of Shared Future for Mankind and International Youth Leadership”, which was held between November 15-17, 2019 at University of International Business and Economics (UIBE). In November 2017, UIBE established the Research Center for Youth Cultural Exchange, which launched the International Youth Dialogue. In almost three years, the annual event has become a platform for internationalized dialogues between youth, scholars and policy makers, as it has enabled youth from over 30 countries to participate in innovative projects for global open development and to discuss ways to promote globalized youth development with scholars, corporate executives and government officials from both China and abroad.
This year’s event was focused on promoting youth leadership and innovation as a way to contribute to the creation of A Community of Shared Future for Mankind. The organizing committee under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Wang Yuhang who is also Executive Director of Research Center for Youth Cultural Exchange, invited prof Dr Zahid Anwar, Director, China Study Centre, University of Peshawar to participate and present his paper on, “ BRI, CPEC & Opportunities for Youth in Pakistan” in the international conference.
Many scholars from different countries including Pakistan, Austria, USA, Saudi Arabia participated in the conference. Some important International scholars of the conference were Prof. Dr. Gerald Knapp from the Alpen-Adria University of Klagenfurt, Austria, Prof. Ahmed Saeed Badrais, (New Westminister College), Saudi Arabia, Prof Dr Hannes Krall, Alpen-Andria University, Austria and Miraz Ahmed Badrais, Computer Science Expert and Youth Representative from Saudi Arabia. A large number of students from Pakistan are studying in this prestigious University.
A think tank, “ A SILK ROAD THINK TANKS ALLIANCE ON PEOPLE TO PEOPLE EXCHANGE” was also initiated during the conference to further strengthen academic and cultural exchanges among countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative. China Study Centre, University of Peshawar became member of this alliance.
UIBE is one of the most popular Universities among Chinese young people and one of the most Internationalized Universities in China. The organized and earnest efforts of Prof. Wen Jun, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of UIBE, Prof. Liang Kaiyin, UIBE and Prof. Wang Yuhang, UIBE played vital role in organizing this successful International Conference.
