COLLABORATION BETWEEN CHINA STUDY CENTRE & CICIR
China Study Centre, University of Peshawar is developing linkages with different research institutes of China. China Institute of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR) is one of the biggest and high ranking research institutes in China. Within CICIR there is an institute of the South Asian Studies, which is focusing on developments in the South Asian region. To strengthen cooperation between the CSC and CICIR, Prof. Dr. Zahid Anwar Director, China Study Centre, University of Peshawar visited CICIR and held a meeting with Prof. Dr. Hu Shushing, Director Institute of South Asian Studies on August 06 2019. In the two hour long meeting many issues concerning the South Asian Region were discussed. Those issues included peace and reconciliation process in Afghanistan, Pakistan and India relations in the context of Indian Government`s recent step of abrogation of Article 370/35A of the Indian constitution regarding Kashmir. The heads of two institutions agreed to further strengthen cooperation between CSC and CICIR. Dr Hu Shisheng thanked Prof. Dr. Zahid Anwar for his visit to CICIR and Professor Dr. Zahid Anwar thanked CICIR especially the Director of the Institute for of the South Asian Studies for sharing Chinese prospective on South Asia.
