Centre for I.T Services  provides the following Services to Students, Faculty Members and  Research Scholars

1. IT and Internet Services

Center for IT services CITS University of Peshawar has a high performance optical network and Internet connection with 336 Mbps speed from PERN HEC project. More the 60 Optical Fiber switches deployed and working that connects all the University departments, administration block, colleges, schools, hostels, University residential area centralized to Data Center. Managed Intranet network between departments using virtual local area network VLAN. Added efficiency and gaining maximum output with virtualization deployed on the existing servers. Network monitoring servers NMS deployed to achieve maximum with 24/7 uptime.

CITS manage all the activities of the overall I.T. Infrastructure which includes network expansion and maintenance, providing maintenance/ troubleshooting services (network, hardware and software), website development and local hosting, online Announcement of examination results, University attendance management system and video surveillance and managed VOIP setup to University officials.

To access the Internet service within University premises:

For acquisition of new network connections, Staff Members has to give written request or send an e-mail to Director CITS. For details please see the list below.

2. Email Services

CITS provides email services to teaching, non-teaching staff and MS/MPhil/PhD students to communicate electronically that can accessed globally.

Getting New Mail Account:

 To acquire new email account, send us an application on Departmental Letter head to Director CITS along with a photocopy of University employment card (or MS/MPhil/PhD student card).

3. Video Conferencing

CITS provides video conferencing facility which helps students, researchers and faculty to attend online lectures, seminars, conferences by connecting to local as well as to foreign universities. This facility is free to the University staff.

Getting video conferencing facility:

For video conferencing hall booking please send a request at least one week before through official letter and confirm the availability of the hall from Deputy Directory CITS Mr. Irfanullah Khan.

 4. Virtual Private LAN Service

CITS facilities with VPN Services to access digital library anywhere outside the premises of University network.

5. National Digital Library

The National Digital Library program provides researchers access to international scholarly literature based on electronic (online) delivery.

6. Wi-Fi network

CITS provide Wireless network access service which help students in the research and education with mobility.

7. IT Workshops 

CITS arrange IT Workshop for students and employees which helps them to improve their technical skills.
