Over recent years, the tribal areas have undergone a scale of structural, functional, financial and managerial change amounting to almost a revolution. The culmination of the revolution can be witnessed in shape of new ideas originating in fixing a governance structure in FATA. Participants expressed their views about the governance as well as its political and socio-economic problems. However, this would not have been possible without the presentations made by practitioners as well as academicians during the course of the conference. It was a fine blend of academicians and practitioners which gave a wonderful learning experience to the audience. It was also a comprehensive and assessable awareness campaign.

Keeping in view changes and plans to change FATA, today’s tribal region is completely different from that of the early 1980s or even of 2000s. However, still a lot is to be seen in the policy-making and drastic steps on ground to make a dream a reality. It depends on the extent to which our governmental circles wish to exercise a wider role of FATA’s development and reconstruction.
