The Bara Gali Campus

 

Bara Gali is one of the most beautiful hilly resorts of Pakistan. Marked by dense forests, tall mountains and pleasant climate, this beautiful valley has been a home to thesummer campus of the University of Peshawar since 1965. The Campus is located at BaraGali on the Abbottabad NathiaGali - Murree Road, at a distance of approximately 30 kilometers from Abbottabadand 92 kilometers from Islamabad. Located atan altitude of 8000 ft above the sea level, the Campus is spread over an area of 60 acres of land.

 

 

 

The Campus is the center of academic and research activities particularly during the summer, i.e., May to September. Each summer, around 20-25 International and National seminars, conferences, symposia, workshops, training courses,and summer Schools are held at this evergreen Campus which are attended by thousands ofstudents and delegates from home and abroad. The whole area literally bustles with life during the summer.

 

 

 

Besides educational activities, the Campus offers limited accommodation facilities to the families of the employees of the University of Peshawar for 07 days during summer vocations.  Every year, the Independence Day of Pakistan is celebrated with traditional pomp and show: the whole campus glows with lights and colors, with hundreds of men, women and children participating in various fun activities.
