Penalties

The penalties which may be imposed and the authorities competent to impose each kind of penalty are specified below: 

Minor Penalties

  3. Expulsion from an institute.
  4. Discipline Committee with the approval of the Vice-Chancellor.
 

Vice-Chancellor's Powers to Impose Penalties:

  • At his discreation, the Vice-Chancellor shall have the powers to impose himself any of the penalties instead in regulation No. 12. or to refer any case to the 'Discipline Committee' as constituted under the First Statutes University of Peshawar Act 1974'.
  • When a case against a student is referred to the 'Discipline Committee', it may, if deems fit, suspend the student from the roll/and or direct him to vacate the hostel till it decided the case.

Procedure in Case of Breach of Discipline.

  • A teacher or Officer mentioned in regulation No. 12. in whose presence or in relation to whom an act of indiscipline has been committed or who obtains knowledge of such an act, a report or otherwise, may deal with the case himself or if in his view:
    • The case is one which can be more appropriately dealt with by another authority; OR
    • The nature of the case (indiscipline act. crime or offence) demands a penalty beyond his/her competence to impose, he shall follow the following procedure:
      • If he is not himself the head, he shall refer the case to the concerned head who may deal with it himself or, if required, refer it in writing to the appropriate authority.
      • If he himself is the head, he shall deal with it himself or refer it in writing to the Vice-Chancellor.
